Clean Up Campaign

Orange Nation Peru believes in being committed in using ECO-TOURISM as a tool to encourage the protection of the natural environment. We encourage to love and respect nature through enhanced understanding and awareness, both in our staff and clients. We create frameworks where the ECO-TOURISM business promotes truly sustainable use of pristine natural environments and nature. These benefits are shared equally and fairly with local communities, with no damage to the natural environment surrounding them. In addition to promoting ECO Tourism, we also have annual environmental projects to raise awareness in protecting our natural surroundings.  Our goals would be to promote eco-tourism in partnership with local communities, raise awareness in environmental welfare and teach others the importance of conserving our natural surroundings. Find out ways to reduce, reuse and recycle materials in ORANGE NATION Reducing Try to reduce the amount of waste you produce, as this is the best way to help the environment! If you cannot avoid producing the waste, try… Reusing Think of ways you could reuse something, like shredding paper for your hamster rather than buying bedding or saving glass jars for storage. If you can not reuse something try… Recycling (and composting) This enables the materials you throw away to be used again by making them into new products. We have annual cleanup projects, in which, we work with local schools and institutions to set an example to other businesses within our area.  Each year, we change our cleanup locations as we mainly focus on the…

Christmas Surprise

Orange Nation Peru has many goals to collaborate with Andean communities in Cusco to overcome economic and social challenges through a working partnership that directs resources toward sustainable projects. Special focus is given to support the children within those communities as well as take part in their educational endeavors.  Orange Nation Peru establishes annual social projects that are committed to share the spirit of Christmas by participating in activities such as: distribute Christmas presents, hand out sweet treats and hot chocolate to about 300 children or so. All of these small activities would not happen without the support we get from tourists and also our team members!  We want to thank you all of you for providing us with items needed for these projects, which have been so gratefully accepted by all the local communities and families!  Below are pictures from the project we held this year in the community of Pacchanta.

Dreams Come True

Local indigenous visit Machu Picchu December of 2017, Orange Nation once again fulfilled the dreams of 36 children and their parents from the indigenous community of Pampamarca way up in the Andean mountains in the south of Cusco. They got to tour Cusco City, Sacred Valley and the Citadel of Machu Picchu all paid for by Orange Nation.  These are children do not have the resources nor ability for many reasons to be able to experience the historical sites of their Inca heritage.  Sam Travel wants to give them a once in a lifetime experience up close and in person of their heritage and restore their pride in their culture, history and Inca heritage. Why Orange Takes Children to Machu Picchu Orange Nation believes it is extremely important to give, the native Indigenous people, Los Incas, of the Andean highlands that live way high up in the more isolated mountainous regions around Cusco, the opportunity to see and experience Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, and Cusco, their ancient descendant’s historical sites. We are hoping to restore to the people of the indigenous communities, a pride and an understanding of the importance of their history, heritage, and ancient culture. This is being lost to the people. The people of these communities have been marginalized in some cases by society and may lack basic necessities in their communities of education, health services, adequate food and housing etc. It is sad that millions of foreigners now have the opportunity to experience Machu Picchu, Sacred…

Tree Planting

Orange Nation as a travel agency is concerned about our environment and believes it is our social responsibility to preserve our planet. Due to deforestation in the Andes Mountains, there are numerous mountain slopes that are void of trees. Trees are critical for their beauty, their ability to protect the environment, and for all wildlife, livestock and the people living near them. Please note below the long list of the benefits of tree planting for our planet.SAM Travel as a joint effort between the Kiswarani Indigenous Community and themselves planted 10,000 trees on the slopes of the Lares Valley. 70 people in 1 day with lots of hard work managed to cover the slopes of the surrounding mountains with 10,000 Queuna trees. They are native trees to the Andean Mountains and are better than the eucalyptus trees which people have planted in the past that are not native trees and take over and destroy the environment. The local Kiswarani community looks forward to when they will have the joy of the trees scenery daily, protection for the animals, and the natural hardwood for building and framing of homes. Tree plantings benefit the land, animals, and people by: Restoring or enhancing the natural beauty of the Andean slopes Restoring the forest previous destroyed by deforestation Reducing soil erosion and wind erosion. Reducing water evaporation, preserving winter moisture, and protecting and improving water quality Reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide Providing food and cover for wildlife and livestock. Protecting livestock from the elements and…
