Comfortable Exploration of Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu
Explore the wonderful historical city of Cusco and observe the magnificent colonial temples that were built on the ruins of the Inca foundations. This tour package will take you through the lush green Sacred Valley and archaeological site of Ollantaytambo before arriving at the wonderful Inca city of Machu Picchu. Spend the night at the gateway town of Aguas Calientes and absorb the spectacular scenery of Machu Picchu in all its resplendent glory.
Today is a relaxed and leisurely introduction to Cusco. Enjoy our complementary airport pick up in our comfortable and modern private vans. Upon arrival at your hotel, spend the rest of the day getting acquainted with your new surroundings and the new altitude. Walk through the historical center with plenty of archictetural marvels or the bohemian neighborhood of San Blas. Sample some street art and local cuisine and explore Cusco by night.
Day two is jam packed with adventure and discovery. Our guide will pick you up from your hotel in our private vehicle for a scenic drive through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way you get to enjoy incredible mountain vistas, farming terraces and the Urubamba River flanking you on your left. Our first stop is Pisac, only 45 minutes outside of the city. We visit the bustling and colorful Pisac market before exploring the agriculturally important archeological site that overlooks the city. Enroute, we stop in the small town of Urubamba for lunch. We carefully select the restaurant and we also make sure it´s vegetarian and vegan friendly.
Later, we head over to the historical salt mines, where the locals are still producing salt the same way their ancestors have done for many generations. After, we stop at the fascinating Inca site of Moray, also known as ” The Greenhouse of the Incas.” Finally, we drive to Ollantaytambo to explore the Archeological site that´s famous for being the last resistance of the Incas against the Spanish conquest.
After the tour we will make our way to the Ollantaytambo train station where we will catch the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, your private guide will transfer you to your hotel to check in for the night.
After an early breakfast at your hotel, we catch the early shuttle bus to the citadel. We arrive just in time to enjoy the sunrise over that magnificent Machu Picchu archeological site (2,430m/7,972ft) declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007. We start our very own private guided tour from our experience bilingual guide.
**Huayna Picchu is optional treks within Machu Picchu Citadel which does not include a guide. This is a self climb that you will do after your guided tour of Machu Picchu without a guide. If you would like the extra hike to be guided, please request in advance. There is an extra cost for this extra guided tour.
Later, we take the bus back to Aguas Calients and if time permits than we get to explore the artisanal markets and stroll on the coble street. Finally, we board our train back to Ollantaytambo where our private transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. Estimated arrival time in Cusco is 7:00pm.
Start your final day in Cusco with a scrumptious breakfast at hotel. Our guide will pick you at around 9: 00am . We begin the walking tour in the colorful San Pedro Market, a true representation of authentic Cusqueñan day to day life. The guide will explain the history of this market as you wonder through the narrow aisles laden with colorful fabrics, meals, fruit juice, breads, shaman stalls, etc.
After, we visit Cusco’s main square, a busy and vibrant space that marks the colonial center of the city; which features wide stone pathways and well-kept colorful gardens.
Then we venture to the famous street of Hatun Rumiyoc. The walls of the palace have a Snake and Puma on it. Moreover, there you can observe the well-known 12 angle stone which is a symbol of perfection in Incan Architecture.
After, we will head to the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha) upon which the Convent of Santo Domingo was built. Corikancha is a living representation of merging of Inca architecture and the Spanish conquests’.

It was perfect! On the first day we had a great time exploring the Sacred Valley and see the main attractions and learn about the history of this beautiful place.
I would definitely recommend the short Inka trail, I think it was the best way to get to know Machu Picchu and the surrounding area. We arrived at Machu Picchu when most of the crowd was gone and it felt really special.
You won’t regret booking with this tour company, especially if Liz Montesinos is your guide. My boyfriend and I did the 4 day Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain (private) tour. The tour covered everything; from transportation, hotels, meals, tickets and entrance fees, to stops at local places we would’ve never known to go or check out. We did a private tour because for us we felt this would help us get the most out of our time and experience in Peru
Best mix of adventure, history and nature: Sacred Valley & Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
4-day trekking option seemed too intense for us, but we still wanted to experience the entrance to Machu Picchu through the ancient Inka trail, so we opted for Orange Nation’s combination of Sacred Valley & Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. I couldn’t be more happy about our decision.
We booked and paid the deposit to Orange Nation / Sam travel for the 4 day Inca Trail and Machu Pichu trip back in 2019. But we couldn't travel in 2020 and 2021 - but the company honoured our agreement and so we came back in 2022.

My girl and i did the Machu Pichu trek tour with Orange Nation. It was seriously the most amazing experience that we'll never forget. Gorgeous views! The long trek was worth the amazing view. The tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. We considered other tours but chose Orange Nation because we liked the idea of smaller groups and this was definitely worth it. I will be using Orange Nation again next year when I come back to Peru!
Wow, what a wonderful trekking experience! My trip to Peru was amazing thanks to this awesome tour that i took with Orange Nation. I did multiple tours with this company. I'm a solo traveler and everyone in my group was always still friendly and did not make me feel left out. I loved going off the beaten track with this company. It's much better to pay extra to go off the path for the quality experience of this amazing guided tour They definitely helped guide us and gave us a quality experience with a small group and paid special attention to each one of us. I highly recommend using Orange Nation for your next tour in Peru!

10/10 Amazing experience
If you’re thinking about which agency to use, look no further- Ray and Jimmy went well above and beyond and made this a memorable, safe, fun, and professional experience.
Ray is the most knowledgeable guide I’ve ever had in any country for any excursion - during both the Short Inka Trail and the actual tour of Machu Picchu, Ray’s expertise shined through in his ability to give us a detailed background on every aspect of the history, climate, nature, flora, animals.. anything!
Likewise, Ray and Jimmy were truly the friendliest, kindest hosts that I could have imagined our group having.
Thank you both so much and I will definitely book with you again if (when) I come back!

Short Inca Trial (2-Day)
This tour was the perfect experience for our (group of 10) short trip to Peru. The trail was sometimes challenging, but the views and history made it all worth it. Ray and Jimmy were our guides and imparted sooo much knowledge about the history of Peru, Inca, and beyond. I would definitely recommend!
