Terms & Conditions

Dear Friends, Travellers and Clients!

Thank you very much for choosing Orange Nation Peru! The Peruvian system of services and products sometimes differs from your home country. We strongly suggest you read the following carefully:

Travel in Peru: Orange Nation Peru operates in regions where standards of accommodation can vary. Transportation and services might not be like those you would normally have back home. However we strive with all due care and skill, to provide the best service for our clients. Travelling in Peru requires flexibility, patience, broad-mindedness, good humor and an understanding. Changes may be made without notice due to circumstances or occurences beyond our control. For example a strike, protest, landslide, bad weather, etc. (Force Majeure). By booking any of our tours & treks you agree to allow Orange Nation Peru to make necessary changes without liability.

FORCE MAJEURE

Force Majeure is any event that Orange Nation Peru cannot even with all due care foresee, control or avoid. This covers events such as war or threat of war, riot, civil strike, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, disease, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, fire or all similar events beyond our control. In this case, Orange Nation Peru will not accept liability and reserves the right to change, postpone or even cancel trips. (this is a last option of course!)

Incremental charge in case of Protests or Strikes (Force Majeure)

In the event of a protest or strike( which is not uncommon in Cusco) it may be necessary to leave a day or even two days earlier than scheduled. So that we are able to comply with other services. In this case there may be an additional fee, depending on the situation.

RISKS

By booking any of our adventure trips (Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Lares, Salkantay, Ausangate, Choquequirao, Vilcabamba trek and more).  You assume the risks associated with personal accidents, medical emergencies, air travel problems etc. For these treks, Orange Nation Peru Agency accepts no responsibility.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly advise you to take out travel insurance that covers accidents, medical expenses (including rescue and air ambulance) and emergency repatriation. We also recommend that it covers cancellations and loss of luggage. You can use a travel insurance comparison website to search and compare over 250 travel insurance plans to find the best policy to best suit your needs.

Once you have purchased travel insurance, please forward a copy of the insurance company name and policy number by email. If this is not possible bring the information when you come in to our office.

HOLIDAY OR ELECTION INCREMENTS

An extra charge of $35 USD per person is applicable for all treks (regardless of group / private option / size of group) starting on any of the following dates:

  • Christmas (Dec 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th)
  • New Year (Dec 29th, 30th, 31st, Jan 1st).

We were short on time during our trip to Peru, so we decided to do the 1-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Everything was very well organised. We were collected from our hotel and taken to the train, where our journey to the trail began. The first part of the hike was a bit challenging, but it was absolutely worth it. The views of the mountains and the surrounding nature were breathtaking. Reaching the Sun Gate and seeing Machu Picchu for the first time was incredible. After the tour, we were taken back by train and dropped off at our hotel. I would highly recommend this hike to anyone visiting Peru, especially if you're short on time but still want to experience the Inca Trail. I also highly recommend our guide, Antonio. He was brilliant, incredibly knowledgeable, and shared so much interesting information about Machu Picchu, its history, and the local flora throughout the trek. He also allowed us to take breaks whenever we needed them.

I did the Rainbow Mountain tour, and I was the only one in the group who walked up the mountain. My guide Henry stayed with me the whole way, encouraging me and taking lots of photos along the trail. A truly great experience.

We had an amazing time with Henry our guide on our trek to Rainbow Mountian. With an early pick we left Cusco for the long car ride to Rainbow mountain with a quick stop for breakfast. When we got there Henry helped us reserve horses (highly recommend) and we started towards the mountain. The terrain, snow capped mountains and sediment settlement are a treat to see but it is worth the 10 extra minutes to the top. Because we had the horses we were able to take a long time at the top to take in all of the beautiful wonders. Henry allowed us time to explore and gave us wonderful information about how this beautiful wonder was formed. We definitely got more than our money's worth out of this gem!

Following a great 2-day Inca Trail experience with SAM Travel, I signed up for the one-day Rainbow Mountain + Red Valley trek. Once again our group was small, just 4 people. Junior was our guide - he was friendly and knowledgeable. He seamlessly adjusted to our request for an earlier start time to beat the crowds, and also managed varying group member speeds / fitness levels well. Another positive experience with SAM Travel - highly recommend booking with them, especially if you are a solo traveler.

Rainbow mountain hike provided for gorgeous views, bunch of alpaca. At up to 5000 meters it provided for a healthy challenge even if the profile does not look that impressive…. Our guide - Cesar Siccos - was with us the whole way and provided the necessary support to get over the challenge. Great day out.
